Why We Exist
At Surrounded Pearl, we believe every mother deserves to feel safe, heard, and cared for no matter her race, income, or background.
But in the U.S., Black women face a maternal disparity across all socioeconomic status. Chronic stress, bias, and lack of quality care play a major role.
Our founder created Surrounded Pearl after surviving late onset preeclampsia and realizing how many mothers face similar fear and silence. Out of that experience came a mission: to bridge systemic gaps in maternal healthcare through prevention, access, and community.
When we address the inequities impacting Black women, we raise the standard of care for every mother.
Postpartum is a journey. Care should be, too.

Our Social Club
The Village

The Village Social Club is the community and connection side of Surrounded Pearl—created to give women a place to step away from the everyday routine, meet new people, try something new, and simply enjoy being themselves.
We believe building your village doesn’t always have to happen during the hard moments. Sometimes it starts over coffee, while making a bouquet, coloring at a table, laughing at brunch, or realizing the woman sitting across from you has been looking for community too.
Through thoughtfully curated socials, creative experiences, wellness events, workshops, and community gatherings, The Village creates opportunities for genuine connection—with a little fun mixed in.
Some events are just for the joy of getting out of the house. Others create space for conversations about wellness, motherhood, self-care, and the experiences we often carry quietly. And some are simply an excuse to get dressed, grab a friend—or come alone—and do something different.

Care
Postpartum Continuum Care provides ongoing support beyond the traditional six-week postpartum visit. It connects mothers with resources for physical recovery, mental health, blood pressure monitoring, lactation, pelvic floor health, and emotional and community support—because postpartum care shouldn’t end after one appointment.
